Man, nephew die from electrocution in Quezon province

A man and his nephew were killed after allegedly being electrocuted while picking vegetables in Quezon.

According to a report by Paul Hernandez on GMA Regional TV "Balitang Southern Tagalog," the two men were found lying in the mountainous area of Santa Rosa Barangay Mulanay, Quezon, on Wednesday afternoon.

The bodies were identified as Fabian Bia and Sherwin Mediavilla.

Police said the victims were electrocuted by the dangling power line covered by weeds.

Both victims were farmers and told their relatives that they would climb the hill to pick vegetables.

A concerned citizen saw the bodies after the victims failed to return home.

Authorities reminded the Mulanay residents to be careful and not to move the electric cables in the area to avoid accidents.

However, GMA Regional TV Balitang Southern Tagalog is still trying to get a statement from the victim's family. —Sherylin Untalan/NB, GMA News
