Truck driver, 3 others injured in Bohol accident

TAGBILARAN CITY — At least four passengers onboard a truck were injured when the driver lost control of the vehicle in Alicia town, Bohol on Wednesday.

According to Staff Sergeant Milon Lech Suico, the traffic investigator at the Alicia Police Station, the accident occurred around 10:30 a.m. at Purok 2 in Barangay La Hacienda.

He said the truck was loaded with feeds and dry goods and was headed to Alicia from Carmen town.

The driver, who was identified as 27-year-old Samuel Ariana of Cortes town in Bohol, lost control of the vehicle when the brakes malfunctioned.

Ariana had decided to drive into a ditch in an attempt to avoid hitting other vehicles along the national highway.

The others who were injured in the incident are Melanie Saman, the goods' checker, and helpers, namely Steven Minguito and Jonathan Maldona who were all brought to the town's rural health unit for medical attention. -- BAP, GMA News
