Rizal residents who had diarrhea due to contaminated water get help from GMA Kapuso Foundation

Residents from Tanay, Rizal who suffered from diarrhea due to contaminated water received help from the GMA Kapuso Foundation.

According to a "24 Oras" report Monday, over a hundred individuals got diarrhea in Sitio Nayon, Brgy. Sta. Ines. This came after Typhoon Karding hit the area.

("Because of the environment, sometimes the people relieve themselves anywhere. When it rains, that's the possible 'cause of contamination in the drinking water.")

Based on data from the municipal health office, two residents have already passed away.

Under the "Operation Bayanihan" project, residents were given bananas, rice, eggs, toasted bread, and water which are recommended for those recovering from diarrhea.

They also received hygiene kits, vitamins, water purification tablets, and a session on how to properly wash their hands through the "Linis Lusog Kapuso Kabataan" project.

Ines," she added.

("We conducted a health education that the diarrhea won't be gone if they don't help themselves boil water for the meantime. We already established a hydration and treatment clinic in Sta. Ines.")

The GMA Kapuso Foundation is accepting donations through bank deposits, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Shopee, PayMaya, Zalora, MegaMart, Globe Rewards, Metrobank credit card, and Lazada.
