Ex-soldier nabbed for allegedly robbing pawnshop in Cavite
A former soldier was arrested over his alleged robbing incident in a pawnshop in General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite.
According to a report of CJ Torida for GMA Regional TV "One North Central Luzon" on “State of the Nation” on Friday, the suspect was identified as Michael Comutohan Padilla, an ex-member of the Philippine Army, who is currently working as a VIP security.
CCTV footage showed the suspect pointing a gun at the pawnshop’s cashier, prompting the latter to hand him the money before hiding under the counter. Padilla likewise took the mobile phone on the victim’s table.
The suspect was arrested in a follow-up operation.
Authorities recovered stolen money from the pawnshop, the cashier's mobile phone, firearms, live ammunition, a grenade, and packets of suspected shabu from his possession, according to the report. He will be facing appropriate charges for the crime.
