Grade 9 student shot dead in GenSan
A grade nine student was shot dead in General Santos City, while a woman was found dead inside her house in Dagupan.
In Russel Simorio's report on "Saksi," the female student died after being shot in Purok Spring, Mudia Zone-B in Barangay Labangal, General Santos City, on Wednesday.
The residents said they were shocked when they heard the gunshots.
“Ang narinig ko na putok, dalawa. Nagkagulo dito sa labas, pati ako natakot, gusto ko na rin tumakbo. Naghanap na rin ako ng tulong. Pagbalik ko ng bahay, nakita ko yung babae dito,” said Fred, a resident.
Another individual got injured after the suspect fired him when he tried to help the victim.
“Hinahabol ng suspek yung minor na babae, nakita allegedly nitong lalaki na nabaril at yun sana yung tutulong. Unfortunately, pinagbalingan siya ng suspek kaya natamaan yung mukha niya. Nasa ospital ngayon at siya yung isa sa magiging witness natin,” said Police Lieutenant Colonel Aldrin Gonzales, spokesperson of the city police said.
Omar Talusan, the victim's father, said her daughter last returned home on Sunday and that he had no idea who she was with.
“Mga barkada siguro pero hindi ko naman kilala ang mga barkada niya,” he said.
Authorities said they already have a person of interest in the case.
Meanwhile, in Dagupan City, a 57-year-old lady was found dead inside her house in Barangay Bonuan Guesset, Dagupan City on Wednesday.
A pillow covered the victim's face, who was found without pants and with a wound.
"There are head injuries caused by mauling and he was able to found out three wounds, doon sa ulo ng victim," said Police Lieutenant Colonel Vicente Castor Jr., chief of Dagupan City police station.
It was said that the victim was alone in their house because her husband had left for work.
"We are not disclosing the fact that the victim was sexually abused before or prior of the incident because of the situation that we have observed during the conduct of investigation," Castor added.
According to the police, they found no forced entry into the house, and apart from the victim's cell phone, there are no other missing items. The police say it has a person of interest in the crime.
