Not even the prisons bars stood in the way of a couple's plan to get wed in Rosario, Cavite.

According to a report by Paul Hernandez of GMA Regional TV Balitang Southern Tagalog on "24 Oras," Rosemarie Astor and her boyfriend, Erwin Jose Sacapaño, a person deprived of liberty (PDL), wholeheartedly exchanged "I do's" in a jail facility.

The couple initially planned to get married in the local government's mass wedding program, but Erwin got into something resulting in his detention at the Rosario Police Station.

The bride, who wore an all-white dress in the ceremony, made it possible by finding ways and organizing to push through the wedding.

She said she plans to work abroad to fulfill their dream as a couple.

The other PDLs in the facility served as witnesses during the wedding. Just like other traditional weddings, they also have a godfather and a godmother.

This was also the first wedding ceremony in the custodial facility, according to the report.—Sherylin Untalan/LDF, GMA Integrated News
