Most seaports in Bicol suspend operations for Good Friday

Travelers hoping to catch last-minute trips trooped to various seaports across the Bicol Region on Maundy Thursday.

According to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) District Bicol, Commander Genito Basilio conducted an inspection at the ports to assess the situation and make sure passengers were given the necessary assistance.

“[The] influx of passengers [has been] noticeable since this morning as a result of people catching up [on] today's final trips, as there will be no [scheduled] trips tomorrow in most ports. The schedules will resume on Saturday and Sunday,” it said in a statement

Earlier, the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) announced the cancellation of trips in seaports under the Bicol Port Management Office from April 7 to April 8.
