Hybrid power plant to be built in Pagadian City

A hybrid power plant is set to be built in Pagadian City to cater to the needs of its residents, according to the local government.

Pagadian Mayor Samuel Co and Oltama Development signed a memorandum of cooperation on May 5 for the project.

Among those present during the signing were French Ambassador to the Philippines Michele Boccoz, Mindanao Development Authority Chairperson Maria Belen Acosta, and ZAMSURECO 1 General Manager Raul Saniel.

“The target completion of the project will be in the second quarter of 2025. The cost of electricity will significantly decline once the project becomes operational in Pagadian City and nearby barangays,” the local government said.

"Renewable energy is our way forward in having consistent access to new sources of energy and maintaining a balance in our environment," Co said. —Richa Noriega/VBL, GMA Integrated News
