35-year-old found dead, wrapped in bed sheet in Iloilo sugar cane farm
The search for a 35-year-old ended at a sugar cane field in Dingle, Iloilo.
According to the report on "Saksi" of GMA Regional TV One Western Visayas' Adrian Prietos, the body of Dave Ablanzar was wrapped in a bed sheet.
He was last seen alive on Thursday.
Investigation showed that the victim met a 17-year-old at a fiesta in Pototan on May 8.
They became chatmates and then set a meeting on May 11 at the house of suspect Andrei Ticar, 20.
“Habang nag-iinuman sila, niyaya ng victim ang minor na makipag-sex kaso nag-refuse ang minor doon na sila nag-grapple," said Police Captain Aileen Lacrite, chief of the Dingle Municipal Police Station.
The minor sought Ticar's help.
It was then that Ticar reportedly hit Ablanzar with a hammer. The suspects allegedly strangled the victim, wrapped his body in a bedsheet, and took it to the sugar cane field.
Police said the suspects went to the station to give the information but could not be detained because they did not sign an extrajudicial affidavit.
GMA Regional TV One Western Visayas went to the suspects' house to get their comment but they weren't around.
The victim's friends said he could not have done what has been alleged against him.
“Kung sinasabi sila na ayaw nilang ibigay kay Dave ang sinasabi nila, come to think of it bakit nila papupuntahin doon? Kasi ang bottomline is may intention. Hindi siya nag-enter into relationship like may boyfriend. If ever may lalaki siya na close, best friend niya or close friend na hindi niya binabastos.”
Ablanzar's friends and loves ones are asking for justice. —NB, GMA Integrated News
