Authorities seized at least P191 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Laguna, according to Chino Gaston’s “24 Oras” report on Thursday.

The Calamba police seized 27 kilograms of shabu from the two suspects.

“Hindi namin ineexpect na ganito kalaki yung makukuha at marerecover natin na items since transaction is more on street level transactions. So nabigla kami dun sa narecover namin since siguro nagkampanya sila na di namin sila isesearch dun,” Police Lieutenant Colonel Milany Martinez, Calamba Police Station chief, said.

(We don't expect the haul to be this big since the transaction is more on street level. So we were shocked by what we recovered since maybe they had campaigned that we would not search them there.)

The operation stemmed from the information gathered from other arrested drug personalities.

However, this can possibly come from a bigger source, according to the Provincial Director of Laguna.

Authorities found out that one of the prisoners was commanding the drug operation.

“Ang nangyayari po jan eh dumadami yung nakakulong dyan, lumalawak din ang network nila at dun na sila nagkakaroon ng transaction at ang gagawin natin we will inform the custodial facility kung sino ang head don and we give them background ng case na ito,” Police Colonel Glenn Silvio, Laguna PNP provincial director, said.

(What is happening is that the number of people jailed there is increasing, their network is also expanding and they are having transactions there. What we will do is we will inform the custodial facility which is the head and we will give them the background of this case.)

The Calabarzon police maintained that there were no shabu laboratories in their territorial jurisdiction.

The drugs are supposed to enter from the country’s ports.
