Cops nab suspect in series of theft in Cainta, Rizal

A suspect in the spate of robberies in subdivisions located in Cainta, Rizal has been arrested by the police, Emil Sumangil reported on "Saksi" Friday.

The victim just came from the Cainta police station when the suspect, identified as Michael Razon, was arrested.

According to the police, Razon is a suspect in several cases of robbery in subdivisions in Cainta, Rizal.

One of the victims immediately asked the assistance of the police when he spotted Razon roaming around the subdivision.

Police Major Alfonso Saligumba III, Cainta police chief said they followed the suspect, who was then caught in the act of entering one of the houses.

The police said Razon recently entered a house and stole up to P200,000 cash. In another instance, the suspect stole watches and jewelry.

"Usually, ang tinitira nito ang mga unattended residence," said Saligumba.

The suspect usually commits the crime during the daytime, when houses are empty. The suspect would wait until the parents go to work and children are in school. He would then forcibly open locks or doors using a kitchen knife.

"Patawarin niyo na po ako, kung may nagawa po akong kasalanan Ma'am," said Razon.

"Aaminin ko na po iyan, aakuin ko na po yan para matapos na po yan," he added.

Charges of robbery, theft, and illegal possession of bladed weapon have been filed against the suspect.

The police advised homeowners to secure their houses.

"Kung pwede doblehin ang mga locks. Mas maganda kung meron kayong kasambahay na pwedeng magbantay," said Saligumba. -- BAP, GMA Integrated News
