Helper found dead in Davao, trail of blood leads to elderly employer
A household helper, who was being counted on to pay for the education of a sibling, was found dead on a roadside inside a subdivision in Cabantian, Davao City.
According to the report on "Saksi" of GMA Regional TV One Mindanao's Jandi Esteban, a trail of blood led the police to the home of the victim's 70-year-old employer, who's now the suspect in the killing.
The victim was identified as Shiela Han-ay Lagsaway, 29.
CCTV showed that the suspect, who's reportedly suffering from Alzheimer's disease, pulled with some difficulty a trolley covered with canvas.
It turned out that the trolley contained the victim's body. When the authorities went to the scene to investigate, they noticed drops of blood which led to the suspect's house just 60 meters away from where the body was found.
Police said Lagsaway was hit on the head and stabbed in the nose.
"Sa edad ni nanay, hindi makapaniwala ang tao na kaya niyang gawin yun. May tama ng hampas sa ulo, saksak sa may ilong, may tama rin siya sa likod," said Police Maj. Joenel Pederio, commander of the Buhangin Police Station.
Lagsaway's loved ones are demanding justice for what befell her. —NB, GMA Integrated News
