Iloilo taxi driver gone 'missing' after video of watching porn goes viral

Authorities are looking for the taxi driver who went missing after he allegedly harassed his passenger while watching porn inside his vehicle in Iloilo City. 

Iloilo City Public Safety and Transportation Management Office (PSTMO) head Jeck Conlu said Wednesday that the suspect, around 22 to 25 years old, tried to assault the transgender woman passenger by trying to place her hand on his private part while watching an adult video.

“Along the way, napansin niya na ‘yung taxi driver na nagpi-play ng video na x-rated ata ‘yun, tagalog daw ito. Do’n na nangyari na parang gusto ng driver na hawakan ang kanyang private part… Bale kinuha ‘yung left hand niya (passenger), inabot, na parang gustong ilagay do’n sa private part ng driver,” Conlu said in a Super Radyo dzBB interview.

(Along the way, the passenger noticed that the taxi driver was playing an x-rated video. It was in Tagalog. It was then when the driver wanted her to touch his private part... He reached out for her left hand, as if he wanted to put it on his private part.)

Fearing for her own safety, the passenger took a video of the incident and uploaded it on social media to warn would-be passengers, according to the report on "Saksi" of GMA Regional TV One Mindanao's Jandi Esteban.

Conlu, however, said they could not find the suspect after he left the cab at a lodging house upon hearing that the post had already gone viral.

“Ngayon, hindi namin ma-locate ‘yung driver. Although may address na kami, pero ‘yun nga, hinahanap pa rin namin ‘yung driver,” he said.

(We can't locate the driver now. Although we have an address, we are still looking for the driver.)

The passenger is set to file a complaint to the police, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), and Land Transportation Office (LTO) within the day.

The LTFRB Region 6 is also expected to issue a show cause order against the driver, according to Conlu. —Giselle Ombay/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
