Police cadet dismissed over alleged stealing
A cadet of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) was dismissed for allegedly stealing his classmates’ allowances, an official said Friday.
PNPA spokesperson Police Lieutenant Colonel Louie Gonzaga said the second class cadet was removed from the academy following an investigation of the PNPA Honor Committee on the complaint filed against him.
“The story behind this, siya kasi ang authorized ng kaniyang classmates to withdraw for and on their behalf of the allowance. Unfortunately, sumobra ang winithdraw niya. It is already an act of stealing, which is a gross violation of the honor code,” Gonzaga told dzBB’s Super Radyo.

“Convicted siya ng Honor Committee, which is naging basis naman ng administrative aspect of it for his notice of dismissal from the cadetship,” he said.

The police official also said the incident underwent a “swift, fair yet extensive” investigation.
“We cannot condone such acts that go against our ideals…The PNPA as a matter of policy will not maintain zero-tolerance against those who violate rules and regulations,” he added.
Meanwhile, the PNPA is implementing programs and policies against maltreatment following the death of one of their underclassmen who was beaten to death by a senior cadet in 2021.
Among these is the war against maltreatment program implemented by Director Police Major Eric Noble and the five-prong agenda of PNP chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr.
There are currently 1,104 cadets in PNPA, of which 250 are set to be incorporated into the academy in August.—Sundy Locus/LDF, GMA Integrated News
