Over 1,800 residents in Albay receive aid from GMA Kapuso Foundation amid Mayon unrest

Over 1,800 evacuees from Sto. Domingo and Ligao City Albay received aid from the GMA Kapuso Foundation amid Mayon Volcano's unrest.

According to a report on "24 Oras," Wednesday, the towns are among those affected by Mayon's recent activity.

Some of the evacuees, including 70-year-old Elisa Balbin, are experiencing discomfort in the designated evacuation centers.

She is one of the residents who spent P4,000 just to build a makeshift shelter in the area.

"Mahirap din dahil sa wala kami doon sa aming bahay pero sa ano namin dito OK din naman. Safe kami doon sa ano kasi nakakatakot din baga di ba," she said.

For the second wave of the GMA Kapuso Foundation's Operation Bayanihan, the affected residents received hygiene kits and diapers.

For those who are interested to help, the GMA Kapuso Foundation is accepting donations through bank deposits, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Shopee, PayMaya, Zalora, MegaMart, Globe Rewards, Metrobank credit card, and Lazada.
