Cagayan town councilor wounded in ambush


MANILA, Philippines - A town councilor of Cagayan province was shot and wounded in an ambush while traveling along the national highway in Solana town in Cagayan province Saturday morning. Bombo Radyo Tuguegarao reported Saturday night that the incident involved a councilor of Rizal town in Cagayan, and occurred at Lingu village in Solana. Chief Inspector Hector Balinuyos, Solana town police chief, identified the victim as council member Nelson Littaua, who was rushed to a hospital in Tuguegarao City. The report said Littaua was operated on at the St. Paul Hospital but his condition was not immediately known. Littaua is the ABC Municipal Federation President in Rizal at a relative of the town mayor. - GMANews.TV
