100 kilos of shabu in tea packs found in car parked for 6 days

The NBI Task Force against Illegal Drugs and NBI Pampanga seized some 100 kilograms of tsaabu, or shabu hidden in packs of tea, found inside a car parked at a mall in Mabalacat.

According to a Balitanghali report by John Consulta on Friday, 200 packs of illegal drugs were found inside the car which had been left in the parking lot for six days.

The NBI task force was able to recover the car’s keys from a folded side mirror.

On further investigation, the NBI confirmed that the car was recently sold.

It was suspected that the car was being used in a "palit-kotse" scheme in which vehicles containing illegal drugs were swapped.

The National Task Force Against Illegal Drugs is now conducting a cross-matching search to check if the recovered drugs were a match for previously confiscated tsaabu stocks that were smuggled inside the country.

They were also reviewing the mall’s CCTV footage to identify the driver of the parked vehicle. — Jiselle Casucian/DVM, GMA Integrated News
