3 suspects posing as BFP safety inspectors nabbed in Aklan


Three suspects were recently arrested in Aklan for allegedly posing as Bureau of Fire Protection personnel to dupe businesses.

According to a Super Radyo dzBB report by Ava Marie Moises on Saturday, authorities arrested 28-year-old Cherry Grace De Leon, 29-year-old Jeric Bato Ampo Ramirez, and 30-year-old Mary Juachon at a checkpoint in Altavas, Aklan where their victims were able to identify De Leon as the main suspect.

According to their victims, the suspects would arrive at local gasoline stations and claim to be BFP personnel conducting fire safety inspections.

The suspects would then accept orders and payments for fire extinguishers and never return with the promised deliveries.

According to initial info released by Aklan Police, the suspects were able to target businesses in Boracay, Malay, Nabas, Banga, and Batan.

Appropriate charges were filed against the suspects. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
