P200K REWARD

Police optimistic missing beauty queen Catherine Camilon still alive

Police are optimistic that missing beauty queen Catherin Camilon is still alive, according to Police Regional Office 4A (PRO 4A) chief Police Brigadier General Paul Kenneth Lucas on Tuesday.

“Optimistic po ang ating mga kapulisan na itong si Ms. Catherine ay buhay pa (The police are optimistic that Miss Catherine is still alive),” Lucas told Dobol B TV.

Based on the investigation, Camilon is still in the country, Lucas said.

A person of interest has been identified. However, Lucas said they cannot divulge information about the motive of the person of interest as it may jeopardize the probe.

A reward of P200,000 is being offered to those who will be able to give information on the location of Camilon, Lucas said. The cash reward came from a local government official and a business sector in Batangas.

Those who have information on the missing beauty queen may reach the police at 0917-3295952, Lucas said.

Camilon, a Miss Grand Philippines 2023 candidate who represented the municipality of Tuy, was last seen on October 12 at a mall in Lemery.

Her mother said she was supposed to meet someone in Batangas City, but she did not show up.

Batangas Police Provincial Office Director Police Colonel Samson Belmonte ordered "intensified efforts in tracing and gathering information" on the whereabouts of Camilon.

The police added that "stations and units across Batangas Police Province are working together with the Tuy Municipal Police Station in searching for any trace or information."

The beauty queen's sister Chin-chin Camilon earlier asked for help from netizens to locate Catherine's whereabouts. —KG, GMA Integrated News
