PAF: 60% of Benguet forest fire extinguished

The Philippine Air Force (PAF) said on Tuesday that 60% of the forest fire in Itogon, Benguet, has been extinguished.

"Utilizing two Super Huey helicopters, personnel from the 505th Search and Rescue Group, Philippine Air Force continue to battle the wildfire in Brgy. Dalupirip, Municipality of Itogon, Benguet," said the PAF in a statement, 

The forest fire began on January 26 and spanned 50 hectares of land in Barangay Dalupurip and Tinongdan. There were no reported casualties.

"A Huey helicopter is engaged in a helibucket operation within the remaining approximately 30 hectares of forested area ablazed by fire," the PAF said.

There were no reported casualties.
