NBI rescues 3 women from online prostitution in Quezon, nabs alleged pimp
Authorities in Quezon rescued three women, including minors, from alleged online prostitution and arrested their suspected pimp.
According to John Consulta's report on 24 Oras, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Anti-Human Trafficking Division arrested the suspect, identified as Jomar Galsote in an undercover operation in a motel in Quezon province.
"Tatlong babae ang kanyang binubugaw na may menor de edad, kasama na ang kanyang ka-live in partner na ibinubugaw rin po niya," said Attorney Bernard dela Cru, NBI Chief Lucena.
(He was offering sexual services of three women, some are minors, as well as his live-in partner.)
The suspect claimed that the victims came willingly with him to the motel.
"Tumawag po sa akin, narinig nila na naghahanap ng babae. Tatlo po 'yun. Yung dalawa kusang sumama. Tapos yung isa, asawa ko na pinilit sumama sir," said Galsote.
(They called me, they heard that someone was looking for women. There were three of them. The two willingly came along. Then the other one, my wife who forced me to let her come.)
The victims will be turned over to the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWD) in Lucena to undergo corresponding intervention such as social, psychological and physical evaluation.
Meanwhile, NBI Lucena said it is conducting a follow-up operation to track down and rescue other women believed to be involved in the suspect’s illicit activities.—Sherylin Untalan/RF, GMA Integrated News
