4 missing after fishing vessel submerges in Zamboanga

Four individuals were reported missing after a fishing vessel submerged in Zamboanga City on Thursday.

According to a report by the Philippine Coast Guard, fishing vessel RCT-999 submerged in the vicinity of Tumalutab, Payao, Zamboanga City with a total of 38 individuals on board.

The Coast Guard Substation Sangali immediately launched a search and rescue operation to locate the missing passengers and assist the survivors.

The Coast Guard Southwest Mindanao is closely monitoring the area to address potential oil spills and marine protests resulting from the incident.—Jiselle Anne Casucian/AOL, GMA Integrated News
