Cessna plane crash lands in Bulacan rice field


A Cessna C152 plane on a training flight crash landed in a rice field in Malolos, Bulacan on Saturday afternoon due to engine failure, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) reported.

According to the CAAP, the aircraft—carrying a pilot and a student pilot—operated by Fliteline Aviation with registry number RP-C2673 was on its way from Plaridel, Bulacan to Subic, Zambales and back for touch-go training when the aircraft suffered engine failure.

"(T)he pilot and student pilot on board have been reported as safe and alive following the emergency landing," the CAAP said in a statement.

The aircraft operator committed to shoulder the damage to the field, while the Aircraft Accident Investigation and Inquiry Board was dispatched to the crash site to determine the cause of the engine failure.

The CAAP said its Operations Center and the Aeronautical Rescue Coordination Center (PARCC) were alerted about the incident. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
