Wounded Philippine Eagle found caught in wild boar trap in Apayao


A Philippine Eagle was found wounded after it was caught in a trap made for wild boars, Unang Balita reported on Tuesday.

A farmer in Kabugao, Apayao found the wounded eagle, which was then brought to the City Veterinary Office of Laoag for treatment.

While at the veterinary office, it was found that the eagle had some airgun pellets in its body.

Treatment for the bird is expected to last for two to three months, after which it will be released back to the wild. —KBK, GMA Integrated News
