Python inside schoolroom in Ormoc City, Leyte rescued

A snake was found inside a classroom in Ormoc City in the Province of Leyte.

School officials coordinated immediately with the authorities to have the snake rescued to further prevent an incident at school. 

Personnel of Ormoc City Fire Station responded to the report at past 10 a.m. on April 23, 2024. The snake was identified to be a reticulated python estimated to be eight feet long and weighed about 4.6 kilos.

The python was believed to have searched for food and found its way to the school premises. 

The python was turned over to the Environment and Natural Resources Office (ENRO) in Barangay Bantigue, Ormoc City. —GMA Regional TV
