4 siblings rescued in Lanao del Sur after alleged abuse by cousin, grandfather

Four siblings, all minors, were rescued from a house in Ditsaan-Ramain, Lanao del Sur in a joint operation, according to the report of GMA Regional TV One Mindanao's James Paolo Yap on "Saksi" Friday.

The operation was conducted by personnel from NBI-Iligan, DSWD Lanao del Sur, and Ramain PNP after one of the victims filed a complaint of being raped repeatedly over the years by a cousin.

Atty. Medrobel Ylanan, NBI-ILDO Agent-in-charge, said the abuse started in 2017 up to 2019.

The last incident occurred in 2023 and this time the complaint ran away from home.

The victim's 16-year old sister and 15-year-old brother were also abused while a 7-year-old brother was traumatized after witnessing the abuse done on his siblings.

Aside from their cousin, they were also abused by their grandfather who passed away last year.

The team did not find the suspect at the site, but a pursuit operation is ongoing.

Officials are preparing a complaint against the suspect based on provisions under Republic Act 8353 or the Anti-Rape law.

The four siblings are now in the custody of the Municipal Development Office of Ramain and will undergo debriefing and medical intervention. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
