Two injured after Cessna crashes in San Fernando City, La Union


Two passengers were injured after a Cessna 172 plane crashed into the waters off San Fernando City, La Union on Monday.

According to the Coast Guard District North Western Luzon, the passengers were given first aid before being taken to the hospital for further medical treatment.

“At around 9:26 a.m., the Marine Environmental Protection Unit immediately arrived at the crash area and laid two 25 meters oil spill boom to prevent the possible oil spill from the plane to the sea,” the Coast Guard said in a statement.

An initial investigation found that the student pilot and pilot instructor were conducting a test flight before the aircraft crashed.

Authorities are further probing the cause of the plane crash.
