Nearly P4M worth of kush, cannabis-infused vapes seized at Clark port

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) has seized a parcel containing P3.98 million worth of high-grade marijuana or kush and assorted cannabis-infused disposable vapes at the Port of Clark in Pampanga.

In a statement on Wednesday, the BOC said the parcel was declared as "accessory" from California, USA.

The misdeclared parcel contained 2,132 grams of kush and 156 pieces of cannabis-infused disposable vapes, BOC said.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) confirmed the presence of marijuana in the package after samples underwent chemical laboratory analysis.

The BOC issued a warrant of seizure and detention against the subject shipment for violation of RA 10863 or the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act in relation to the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) earlier announced that it would require all vape products sold in the country to have internal revenue stamps on their products starting June 1, 2024. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/ GMA Integrated News
