Nur Misuari appeals P77-M graft case conviction

Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) founder Nur Misuari has appealed his P77 million graft case conviction by the Sandiganbayan.

In a 24 Oras report on Thursday, the lawyer of the 85-year-old Misuari said the alleged violation of the MNLF founding chairman under the Anti-Graft Law has no basis.

Misuari’s counsel said the alleged lack of public bidding cannot be considered a violation and that there is no evidence of ghost deliveries.

On May 24, Misuari and six other people were convicted of two counts of graft over the ghost purchases of P77 million worth of learning tools from 2000 to 2001.—Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
