Cainta, Rizal placed under State of Calamity due to severe flooding

Cainta, Rizal Mayor Elenita Nieto announced that the municipality has been placed under a State of Calamity on Wednesday.

"The southwest monsoon and Typhoon Carina's continuous onslaught of rain since yesterday has brought severe flooding, causing huge damage to property and disruption of livelihood of our residents in all seven barangays," Nieto announced.

"We will continue to provide relief and to conduct rescue operations, with the goal of restoring our town," she said. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
