Crowds fill Cebu City streets amid the pageantry of the 2025 Sinulog Festival

Locals and tourists alike filled the streets of Cebu City as they celebrated the 2025 Sinulog Festival on Sunday.

In his report on 24 Oras Weekend, Alan Domingo of GMA Regional TV said festive music and colorful attires were the norm for over 40 contingents from across the country that competed in the Sinulog Grand Showdown 2025.

The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) said it has implemented tight security measures to ensure public safety.

CCPO director Police Colonel Enrico Figueroa reminded the public to abide by the rules and policies set by the Philippine National Police and the Cebu City government.

“Sana, this is the last day, sana ito’y maging ligtas sa ating lahat, maging masaya tayo at maging masaya ang ating Sto Niño,” Figueroa said.

(This is the last so I hope we will all be safe and happy. I hope the Sto Niño is also happy.)

The Department of Tourism also issued an advisory for travelers.

In a Facebook post, the Cebu City Public Information Office shared the energetic moves of Barangay Binaliw contingent dancers as they performed to the "I Love Cebu" song.

Despite the afternoon heat, the participants in the Sinulog Street Dancing competition performed along the Fuente Rotunda.
