Tricycle driver killed, 2 students hurt in Batangas City shooting

A tricycle driver was dead on the spot after a riding-in-tandem shot him while traversing Barangay Paharang Silangan in Batangas City on Thursday afternoon, according to the police.

Based on a police report, the Batangas City Component Police Station said the victim identified as “Catalino” sustained a gunshot wound on his head that led to his instantaneous death.

The tricycle then hit a grassy portion of the streetw which resulted in the injury of two passengers. They were brought to a hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, the perpetrators fled towards Taysan, Batangas.

According to the police, the driver of the black motorcycle was wearing a white T-shirt while the backrider was wearing a light brown T-shirt and pants. They were also wearing black helmets.

Authorities continue to hunt down the perpetrators.
