Father takes his baby hostage in Taytay, Rizal
Authorities in Taytay, Rizal arrested a 26-year-old suspect who allegedly took his one-year-old daughter hostage, EJ Gomez reported Sunday on “24 Oras Weekend.”
According to the police, the hostage-taking took place in Barangay Sta Ana at around 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Rizal Provincial Police Office Director Police Colonel Felipe Maraggun said the suspect's live-in partner had previously accused the suspect of repeatedly molesting his 13-year-old stepdaughter.
“Ginawa niya halos sex toy yung bata. Tuwing may pagkakaton siya, nire-rape niya,” said the live-in partner.
(He practically turned the child into a sex toy. He raped her whenever he had a chance.)
The partner added that the suspect fled to the province, but they did not notice that he went home that Saturday evening.
“Pagtapos nun, tumakbo na siya hanggang highway daladala yung babay. Binaliktad niya yung bata at sinabi niya hindi lang ako mamatay ngayon, mangdadamay ako,” the victim’s aunt said.
(After that, the suspect ran to the highway with his baby. He held the baby upside down and said he would not be the only one who would die that night.)
After an hour-long negotiation, the suspect surrendered to authorities.
The baby had minor wounds on her neck where her father held a bladed object.
Maraggun said the suspect may be charged with violating the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Law; Alarm and Scandal; and Illegal Possession of a Bladed, Pointed, or Blunt Weapon.
The suspect is detained in the Taytay Municipal Police Station. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
