DENR intercepts 855 board feet of suspected illegally transported lumber in Capiz


The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has intercepted 855 board feet of allegedly illegally transported lumber in Pontevedra, Capiz.

In a statement posted on Wednesday, DENR said its provincial office conducted monitoring and verification of the transports after receiving a report.

They seized a Rusco multicab pick-up loaded with 70 pieces of mahogany lumber with a volume of 608 board feet.

The DENR also caught a top-down tricycle loaded with five pieces of Tipolo and 14 pieces of Narra with a volume of 274 board feet.

The seized forest products are under the DENR’s provincial office’s custody and will be disposed of according to the environmental laws and regulations. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/BAP, GMA Integrated News
