Habal-habal driver stabbed in middle of the road in Cebu City

A habal-habal driver was stabbed in the middle of the road in a barangay in Cebu City, in an attack that was caught on video.

According to a report by GMA Regional TV's Alan Domingo for 24 Oras Weekend, the incident occurred on a road in Barangay Kinasang-an Pardo after 3 a.m. on Saturday. The video shows the driver lying on the road trying to fend off a man on top of him attacking him with a weapon in his hand.

Initial police investigation revealed that the 33-year-old driver was waiting for passengers when the attacker approached him and took a picture of him with his cellphone. This angered the victim and the argument resulted in the stabbing on the road.

The victim is in the hospital being treated for injuries to his stomach. The police are still trying to identify the attacker, who was able to get away. — BM, GMA Integrated News
