P170 million worth of shabu seized in Cebu City port; mother, son arrested
By GMA Integrated News
Authorities seized P170 million worth of shabu and arrested two suspects at Pier 5 in Cebu City, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) reported Sunday.
During a targeted anti-drug operation, authorities inspected a merchant vessel arriving with vehicles and cargo.
Twenty-five plastic packages containing shabu were found in a red vehicle upon further examination.
The suspects, a mother and her son, are in the custody of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region VII.
They could be charged with allegedly violating the Comprehensive Drugs Act, which penalizes the illegal transportation, distribution, and sale of prohibited substances. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/BM, GMA Integrated News
