Woman accuses ex of hitting her with car in Cagayan De Oro

A woman in Cagayan de Oro was allegedly hit by a car that was driven by her ex-boyfriend with whom she recently broke up.

According to a 24 Oras report Tuesday by Cyril Chaves, victim “Elle” said she last had contact with the suspect two weeks ago when she broke up with him.

Elle said she saw her ex’s car near her workplace last Friday.

The same car allegedly hit her while she was walking on her way home.

“Pagbundol niya sa akin, tumilapon ako, nabangga yung ulo ko sa semento. Siguro akala niya na mamamatay na ako. Pag-angat ko ng ulo ko, nagmaneho pa siya ulit papunta sa akin, nag-backing pa siya sa direksyon ko. Pag-backing niya, agad akong tumayo at tumakbo,” said Elle.

(After he hit me, I was thrown back and my head hit the asphalt. I guess he thought I was going to die. When I raised my head, I saw him driving towards me, backing the car in my direction. While he was backing up, I immediately got up and ran.)

She was immediately rushed to a hospital for treatment of the injuries she sustained on her head, hands, elbows, and knees.

“Baka nag-plot na siya ng plano kung kailan niya ako papatayin. Hindi ko talaga alam ang laman ng kanyang utak. So, ang panawagan ko ilabas na lamang nila [ang ex-boyfriend ko]. I-surrender lang nila sa authorities,” Elle said.

(Maybe he was plotting when he would kill me. I really don’t know what’s going on inside his head. So, I am asking for them to inform us [my ex-boyfriend’s] whereabouts. I hope they just surrender him to the authorities.)

Cagayan de Oro police said the victim earlier filed a blotter report against the suspect due to their fights.

“Hindi ito ordinaryo na Reckless Imprudence Resulting To Physical Injury, dahil nalaman natin na violation rin ito ng isang special law, itong RA 9262,” said Cagayan de Oro Police Deputy Spokesperson Police Captain Emilita Simon.

(This is no ordinary Reckless Imprudence Resulting To Physical Injury case, because we know this is a violation of a special law, RA 9262.)

Republic Act 9262 is the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004.
