Rogationist priest appointed as new bishop of Daet
Pope Francis has appointed Fr. Herman Guinto Abcede of the Rogationists of the Heart of Jesus as the new bishop of the Diocese of Daet in Camarines Norte.
Abcede succeeds Archbishop Rex Andrew Alarcon, who was transferred to the Archdiocese of Caceres in 2024.

He later pursued theology at the Don Bosco School of Theology in Parañaque City and obtained a licentiate in canon law from the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome.
Since 2023, Abcede has served as the superior of the Community at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary in Parañaque City.
He has also been a member of the Matrimonial Tribunal of the Diocese of Parañaque since 2018 and was appointed as a judge in the tribunal in 2021.
Additionally, he is a member of the Association of Major Religious Superiors in the Philippines and the Canon Law Society of the Philippines. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
