Magnitude 4.6 earthquake strikes offshore Surigao del Norte

A magnitude 4.6 earthquake occurred Sunday morning in the waters of Burgos, Surigao del Norte, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said.
The quake was recorded at 9:10 a.m.
It had a depth of 14 km and its epicenter was estimated to be located at 10.25°N, 126.11°E - 026 km N 08° E of Burgos.
The quake was felt at Intensity III in Surigao City in Surigao del Norte and in Tandag City in Surigao del Sur.
No damage and no aftershocks are expected from the tectonic earthquake, PHIVOLCS said.
The earthquake was initially reported by PHIVOLCS as having magnitude 5.1, but lowered it in an update. —KG, GMA Integrated News
