DUE TO ROAD CRASH

NLEX: 2 northbound lanes at Marilao Interchange Bridge temporarily closed

The North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Corporation announced Wednesday the temporary closure of two northbound lanes at Marilao Interchange Bridge due to a road crash.

“Motorists are advised that the lanes 2 and 3 (middle lanes) of Marilao Interchange Bridge Northbound are temporarily closed due to bridge hit,” the NLEX Corporation said in an advisory on Facebook.

“Please expect traffic delays,” it added.

The NLEX Corporation advised motorists to take alternate routes.

“For motorists from EDSA going Bulacan/ Pampanga, kindly take Karuhatan Exit / Paso de Blas NB Exit / Meycauayan NB Exit going to MacArthur Highway and re-enter at NLEX CDV Northbound or NLEX Bocaue Interchange Northbound,” it said.

“For motorists from Bulacan/Pampanga going Manila, kindly exit at Bocaue Southbound Interchange or CDV Southbound, turn right to MacArthur Highway and re-enter at NLEX Meycauayan Southbound,” it added.

In a traffic update as of 10 a.m., the NLEX Corporation said there was a road crash at Marilao Interchange Bridge that led to the temporary closure of two lanes.

The running speed on NLEX Harbor Link Interchange Bridge to Marilao NorthBound was around 10 to 15 kilometers per hour. A patrol team was on site to manage the traffic situation.

For Tambubong, Bocaue to Marilao Southbound, the NLEX Corporation said the leftmost lane was previously used as a zipper lane for northbound traffic with around 20 kph running speed.

Meanwhile, for Marilao Interchange Bridge heading to MacArthur Highway, the NLEX Corporation said Class 2 and 3 vehicles are temporarily prohibited from using the bridge. Only Class 1 vehicles are allowed.

A stop-and-go scheme is being implemented in the area, which has moderate traffic. — RSJ, GMA Integrated News
