Thunderstorms bring floods in parts of Visayas, Mindanao
Thunderstorms have caused flooding in parts of Visayas and Mindanao on Monday, according to a report on “24 Oras.”
Raging water came from a mountain in a portion of Don Marcelino, Davao Occidental. The strong current also damaged a road.
Meanwhile, floodwaters also entered several houses in Glan, Sarangani.
Meanwhile, a portion of a backhoe was submerged after the water level in the river elevated in Dumaguete, Negros Oriental.
Further, the low pressure area that was formed over the weekend has already exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility. However, rains will continue in some parts of the country due to the intertropical convergence zone and easterlies.
According to Metra Weather’s data, there’s a chance of rains over northern and central Luzon, parts of Palawan, Eastern Visayas, and some portions of Mindanao on Tuesday, April 1.
Thunderstorms are also likely to happen in Metro Manila in the afternoon or evening.
Despite the rains in parts of the country, hot weather persists in some areas.
