Farmers in Iloilo town discard 3 tons of tomatoes due to oversupply

Farmers in Pavia, Iloilo, were forced to either throw away or give about three tons of tomatoes to animals because of oversupply.

In an Unang Balita report on Wednesday, the oversupply has caused prices to plummet, making it difficult for growers to earn a fair profit from their harvest.

One farmer shared that despite offering tomatoes for P4 to P8 per kilogram, sales remained sluggish.

Some have turned to selling their produce by the roadside in an effort to recoup losses. —Sherylin Untalan/VBL, GMA Integrated News
