Two elderly men arrested in separate incidents for alleged rape of minors in Rizal

Two elderly men were arrested in separate incidents of alleged rape of minors in Rizal, according to John Consulta’s report in “Saksi” on Thursday.

In Angono, a 63-year-old man allegedly raped his daughter’s 10-year-old stepdaughter. He is also considered as the victim’s guardian.

“Itong akusado is nag-umpisa yung kaniyang pangmo-molestya ng 10 taon gulang noong 2019.  And nung 2022, doon na po nagkaroon ng pwersahang panghahalay sa ating biktima,” PCol. Felipe Maraggun, Provincial Director, Rizal Provincial Police Office.

(The accused started to molest the 10-year-old victim in 2019. And in 2022, he forced himself into the victim.)

The victim told her class adviser about the sexual abuse she has been experiencing under the hands of her guardian. The teacher eventually informed the stepmother about what the victim told her, the report said.

The suspect denied the accusations against him.

“Hindi po totoo ‘yun, yung paghawak sa dibdib, parang naglalambing lang yung paghalik sa pisngi. Ginagalit ko lang po para tumigil sa pagse-cellphone. Hindi po totoo ‘yun, yung panggagahasa,” he said.

(I did not touch her breasts and my attempts to kiss her was just an act of endearment. I was just trying to annoy her so she would stop using her cellphone. I did not rape her.)

The arrest warrant was released April last year for statutory rape charges.

Meanwhile, a 57-year-old man in Baras town was also arrested for statutory rape and rape by sexual assault.

The suspect was accused for raping a 11-year-old child. He was hired to serve as guardian to the victim while the mother is working overseas.

“Bale itong akusado ay family friend. Ang nangyari, dalawang beses po yung insidente ng panghahalay dito sa ating biktima, in 2023, May and July. Then nai-report lang yung krimen last June 2024,” said Maraggun.

(The accused is a family friend. The rape on the victim happened twice in 2023, in May and in July. Then the crime was just reported last June 2024.)

The victim was not able to speak up about the experience because of the suspect’s threats.

The accused denied the allegations.

“Hindi ko po hinawakan yung bata. Yung petsa na po ‘yun, wala po ako sa bahay. May trabaho po ako nun,” he said.
