PAF issues advisory on increased jet flying operations in Clark

The Air Defense Command of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) on Monday advised residents near Clark Air Base of increased jet flying operations in the following days due to Exercise Cope Thunder 2025.

“These flight activities are part of coordinated training exercises designed to enhance interoperability, readiness, and air combat capabilities. Expect elevated jet noise levels as participating air assets conduct air operations,” PAF said in a Facebook post.

On Monday, PAF and the United States Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) kicked off the military exercise at Clark Air Base in Mabalacat City, Pampanga.

From April 7 to 18, the Cope Thunder Philippines 2025 will be conducted at Basa Air Base and Clark Air Base in Pampanga and at Colonel Ernesto Ravina Air Base in Tarlac.

PAF will deploy 729 personnel and various types of aircraft, including FA-50PH, A-29B Super Tucano, S-76A, and S70i Blackhawk helicopters, for the exercise.

Meanwhile, PACAF sent a total of 250 personnel and 12 F-16 fighter jets.

PAF said the Cope Thunder Philippines 2025 will focus on field training exercises on aircraft maneuvers and tactics. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/LDF, GMA Integrated News
