4 soldiers arrested after chase with cops in Pampanga

The Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested four soldiers after they engaged in a chase in San Simon, Pampanga.

According to a “Saksi” report on Wednesday, Police Regional Office III director Brigadier General Jean Fajardo said a resident reported that he was being followed by a car for five days.

When the police approached the car, one of the soldiers pulled out his gun then the vehicle fled.

The police shot the tire of the vehicle, but the suspects got away. But they were intercepted in Barangay San Agustin.

One of the arrested soldiers is recovering in the hospital after he sustained a gunshot wound to his neck from a suspected stray bullet.

According to an investigation, the soldiers are on a mission, but Fajardo said there is no coordination with the police.

The soldiers will be facing charges for unjust vexation and for violating the election gun ban. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/BAP, GMA Integrated News
