Communities affected by Mt. Kanlaon eruption receive help from GMA Kapuso Foundation

Two communities affected by the eruption of the Mt. Kanlaon in Negros Occidental received help from the GMA Kapuso Foundation.

As seen in Mel Tiangco's report on "24 Oras," Monday, GMA Kapuso Foundation gave food packs to over 1,000 residents of three barangays in the provinces of La Castellana and La Carlota.

The foundation also distributed N95 face masks to the residents to protect themselves from the volcanic ash.

According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), Kanlaon Volcano on Negros Island had an explosive eruption on the morning of April 8.

The Department of Tourism (DOT) has suspended tourism activities in various areas in Negros Occidental following the eruption.

Kanlaon Volcano also erupted on June 3, 2024 and December 9, 2024.

For those who wish to support GMA Kapuso Foundation's projects, donations may be made via Metrobank, Land Bank, BDO, Bank of Commerce, UnionBank, PNB, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Lazada, and Shopee.
