Devotees flock to Our Lady of Manaoag basilica in Pangasinan

Thousands of devotees have flocked to the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary of Manaoag in Pangasinan for their annual Visita Iglesia and Alay Lakad as the Catholic faithful observe Holy Week 2025.

Over the past days, pilgrims in Manaoag have been in prayer and penance as they reflect on Jesus Christ's Passion. They have also been preparing their hearts for the glory of His resurrection.

A post from GMA Regional TV One North Central Luzon also showed the huge number of devotees in the wee hours of Good Friday.

On Good Friday, the Catholic faithful remember the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at the Calvary.

According to an earlier report by GMA Regional TV's One North Central Luzon, devotees from other provinces and Metro Manila have also been arriving at the Our Lady of the Manaoag.

Some of them who were unable to attend Mass enter the church to offer prayers and light candles instead.

Police security in Manaoag and at the basilica grounds have been tight during Holy Week, the report said. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
