440 kg of fish caught using dynamite seized in Real, Quezon

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has seized 440 kilograms of assorted fish in Real, Quezon that were caught illegally using dynamite fishing.

In a Facebook post, the Coast Guard District Southern Tagalog reported that the haul was retrieved in 14 abandoned boxes in Barangay Ungos in Real.

The operation was implemented by Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Real, in coordination with the Coast Guard Intelligence Unit – Northern Quezon and the Municipal Agriculture Office of Real.

They acted on a tip from a concerned citizen about abandoned fish allegedly caught using explosives.

Upon inspection, authorities and examiners confirmed that the fish was indeed caught using dynamite fishing. The haul was turned over to the Municipal Agriculture Office of Real for documentation and disposition. — Jiselle Anne Casucian/ VDV, GMA Integrated News
