6-year-old girl rescued from drowning in Quirino
A six-year-old girl was rescued from drowning in Aglipay, Quirino on Maundy Thursday.
The incident occurred at Ngilinan River in Barangay Dungo at aroound 12:50 p.m.
According to a 24 Oras report on Friday, police and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office said that the child drowned while swimming in a deep part of a river.
Medical practitioners who were at the site performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) which saved the child's life.
The Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (LDRRMO) Rescue 104 team also responded after being alerted by police in the neighboring municipality of Maddela.
The child was rushed to Maddela District Hospital then transferred to Southern Isabela Medical Center (SIMC) in Santiago City, Isabela for further treatment.
