3 dead as car hits Good Friday procession in Bacolod
A car crashed into a Good Friday procession in Bacolod City, killing three people and injuring at least 13.
According to a report by GMA Regional TV One Western Visayas, the procession was making its way back to the church in Barangay Alangilan at around 7 p.m. when the car rammed into a tricycle.
The fast-moving car also hit a police patrol vehicle and other people during the procession.
The fatalities include the tricycle driver and his two passengers.
Following the incident, the car's driver—who is expected to face criminal charges—tried to flee with his four passengers but was apprehended.
Aileen Pedreso of GMA Regional TV said in a ''24 Oras Weekend'' report on Saturday that the car was driven by an Indian national, who tested positive for alcohol. — Jiselle Anne Casucian/VBL, GMA Integrated News
